Tabor Theatre presents: Antigone

Performing Arts
Prieb Harder Theater
Saturday, Nov 23, 2019 at 7:30 PM (CT)

Senior Capstone Production: Antigone by Sophocles
Translated by Ian Johnston
Directed by Student Director, Anna Fruechting

Genre: Ancient Greek Tragedy

Antigone's tyrannical uncle, Creon, is now on the throne following the death of her father, Oedipus, and her two older brothers, Eteocles and Polyneices. When Creon issues an unjust decree, Antigone must decide whether to submit to his order or face death by standing up for what she knows is right. This modernized staging of Sophocles's ancient Greek tragedy is the senior capstone of student director, Anna Fruechting, and student designers, Arian Moye (costumes) and Madie Hill (scenic).
